Participating in the Abundance

What if we really do create our reality? We often hear that, but what if it's true? Does that mean I created this job I hate, my struggles with money, the frustrations in my relationships, my problems with my kids, my excess weight, etc.? According to this idea, the answer would have to be yes. But why would we ever create something we don't want? It's because it looks like the lesser of two evils.

What I have learned through my years of coaching is that people take the high road. It may not look like the high road to an outsider, but in their mind, it is the most direct path to doing what is right. They want what is best for themselves, their families and their loved ones.

Our limiting beliefs tell us we have to pick either/or. For example, I hear things like, "If I pursue the career I want, I won't be able to pay my bills; if I want to increase my income, I'll have to spend more time away from my family; if I want to have a good relationship with my kids, I'll have to cave into their wishes and be a bad parent; if I want to be at my ideal weight, I'd have to give up the foods I love."

Our quality of life cannot exceed our limiting beliefs. Yes, it's true that the Universe is abundant, but our participation in that abundance is directly linked to the beliefs we hold in consciousness.

Limiting beliefs are cowardly thoughts that try to convince us we live in scarcity instead of abundance. The good news is that limiting beliefs are not the truth of who we are. Once we catch on to them their gig is up and we're able to move forward with our life.

This week if you hear yourself speaking words of scarcity or fear, pause a moment and ask yourself, "What if I was wrong about that? What if I really could have it the way I desire?" Spend a few moments visualizing that possibility.

Affirmation: I deserve to participate fully in the abundance of the Universe.
