Step 4 helps you identify where, when and why you get off track. Throughout the day everyone fluctuates between being on track and off. The practice is to recognize when you've gotten off track with your life so you can use the tools to get back on track. You get off track when your actions are guided by your limiting beliefs instead of your values. Limiting beliefs are thoughts you hold about yourself that are based on scarcity. You either came to these decisions from your personal experiences, watching others or by listening to what others told you. From these experiences you have compiled a set of truths. Sometimes they serve you, other times they get in the way. When your beliefs, or thoughts, are in alignment with your values they work as a powerful force bringing your true desires into manifestation.
When your beliefs are not in alignment with your authentic self, your desires are blocked. Beliefs that have you feeling disconnected from Source, cut off from your infinite supply, are called limiting beliefs. Beliefs determine how much of your life you are able to receive. They are the gatekeepers that determine what you can and cannot do, what you can and cannot have and who you can and cannot be.
They also influence who you are in relationship with and the quality of that relationship as well as your health, happiness and peace of mind. There are no aspects of your life that are not affected by your limiting beliefs. Identifying and moving beyond your limiting beliefs is where the rubber hits the road in the Receive Your Life program.
Even if you've developed a deep awareness, know your values, gifts and desires, without having a shift in your limiting beliefs nothing will change. The good news is these beliefs are not permanent. Once you get a handle on your limiting beliefs they rapidly begin to lose their power over you.
In this section you'll find out where you get stopped and why. When I talk about beliefs in the context of receiving your life, I'm talking about limiting beliefs, beliefs that prevent you from expressing your authentic self. Beliefs are only a problem when they stop you from being who you are. When you run into a belief that goes against what you value, you hit an artificial wall.
The exercises below will help you identify your limiting beliefs.
